Experience Africa welcomes the following types of vendors
Merchandise Vendors: include sellers of arts & crafts, t-shirts, African print clothing, fashion accessories etc.
Informational Vendors: includes those that are providing information, setting a display, or distributing promotional material.
Non-Profit Vendors: Join Experience Africa as a non-profit vendor and provide information about your cause. Make a difference in Africa and advance your mission with us.
Informational Vendors

Vendor Guidelines
- Vendor Hours and Setup:
- Vendors should arrive at the Washington College of Law, American University, between 7:00am and 10:00am to set up.
- Vendor hours are on Saturday, July 22, 2022, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.
- Loading and unloading of vehicles will take place behind the Washington College of Law.
- Tent and Setup Material:
- Vendors are responsible for providing their own tents and setup materials. The event organizers do not provide these items.
- Dismantling and Cleanup:
- Vendors must dismantle their displays and remove their property from the area no later than 6:00pm on Saturday, July 22, 2022.
- Any vendor exceeding this time frame may incur extra fees charged by Experience Africa.
- Vendors should ensure that they collect all their items and leave the area clean at the end of the event.
- Liability and Insurance:
- Vendors understand and agree that Experience Africa and its sponsors are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to goods or property, or for any personal injuries to vendors or their employees.
- Vendors Selling Items: If you are a vendor planning to sell items, please be aware that we have specific insurance requirements in place. To participate, you must provide a certificate of insurance that includes American University listed as additionally insured. The minimum coverage amounts should be $2,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 as a general aggregate. We kindly request that you fulfill these insurance obligations before becoming a vendor.
- Payment and Entry:
- Vendors must have paid in full before being allowed on the event grounds.
- Alcohol Sales:
- Vendors are not allowed to sell any alcoholic beverages.
- Designated Area:
- Vendors will be assigned a designated area by the Vendor Committee.
- Vendors must abide by the committee's decision and remain in their designated area.
- Pricing and Cleanup:
- Vendors must clearly display all prices for their products or services.
- Exhibitors must clean up their space at the end of the day, ensuring no grease or hazardous materials are left behind.
- Prohibited Items:
- Selling of bootleg DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, or any other illegal materials is strictly prohibited on the festival premises.
- Weather and Recommendations:
- The event is outdoors and will proceed rain or shine, although a tent is recommended (but not required) for vendor setups.
- Refunds:
- There will be no refunds for vendor fees.
